I hate to see Austin Blythe backing up Jamon Brown....he is 290 soaking wet...we are giving up nearly 40 pounds of beef if he comes in for Brown. Now Demby is as big or bigger than brown...and stronger too....maybe he takes the job....hoping so....he looked great at the senior bowl.

Here’s a shocker... I agree with you.

It’s totally irrational and one of those “Blink” judgements.. but I just have a weird feeling Demby is going to be a very good NFL guard. Maybe sooner than later.

The Rams run a zone scheme so you don't have to be a mauler. My money is on Blythe.

That would be a best case scenario for the Rams. Demby was drafted to develop for next season when the Rams would be looking at both of their offensive guards being unrestricted free agents. If Demby could fill in for Brown to open the season and play well Brown may have a difficult time regaining his starting job. Brown could have cost himself millions of dollars with this error of judgement. Rams will have three offensive lineman up for contracts next season and it’s doubtful they could resign all three. They really need some of those younger offensive lineman to step up this year to give them options for the future.

Btw... Demby has a 4th round grade... did excellent at the Senior Bowl and the Rams have one of his former college coaches on staff. I really have a good feeling about this.

I would leave Demby at OT. I mean, if we have to put him at G, I guess you gotta do what ya gotta do.

But I would attempt to move one of our other OT's (Williams) to OG.

 Let's win some games.

Not sure about that...Brown will be back in the lineup week three or sooner if his appeal goes through

Brown wasn’t solid. He was the weakest link on the line. Appreciably.

I wouldn't call it stealing his job........if Demby is the starter that means he earned it ... and is a better player then Brown.......!!

Go RAMS : having the best players on the field will get you more Game Wins

Bleacher report has Brown as the #55 guard in the NFL he received a score of 14/25 in pass blocking and 16/25 in run blocking.Saffold ranked as the #9 guard in the NFL and received a score of 16/25 in pass blocking but had a score of 18/25 run blocking.

However it shakes out, it's nice too have depth at o-line

I don’t mention Noteboom, btw.. because I’d like him to get a ton of work at tackle. See what he’s got.

Brown is a free agent after this year, so it's in the Rams best interest to replace him now. My money is on blythe, can move well in the Rams screen game too.

He's a guard in the NFL.

That has yet to be determined.
What you're saying is like when an idiot baseball analysts says, "he projects as a bench player in the majors".
Really? Don't try to develop the guy or anything.

He was drafted to be a guard & his physical profile is that of a guard.

He’s going to play guard in the NFL.
