Yes he’s in a contract year it’s going to be interesting I don’t think his production warrants a 10Million dollar salary which is what he’s making hopefully the Rams can sign him for half that
He’s probably exceeding 10 million in this market.therealheadslap75 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2019 9:46 amYes he’s in a contract year it’s going to be interesting I don’t think his production warrants a 10Million dollar salary which is what he’s making hopefully the Rams can sign him for half that

And they may be just fine. Joseph-Day has played well this year and Gaines is starting to contribute with this last game being an example. He made some plays before the game became a blowout.
Brockers has been a great player for the Rams throughout his career. Not flashy and maybe not pro bowl level but steady and consistent. He’s a great team player as well because he has been willing to move around on the line and play multiple positions. I know he’s going to be offered at minimum at least his current salary 10.8 million on the open market. He’s still relatively young as he turns 29 this month just a year older than Aaron Donald. You hope that he would possibly sign an incentive laden team friendly deal to remain with and retire as a Ram but understand the business aspect and respect the fact that in this day of players wanting to renegotiate their contract years before it expires Brockers has honored his and fulfilled every thing the Rams have asked of him. I would love for the Rams to be able to resign him but will always be a fan of him if he moves on. He was a great draft pick and has been a great Ram.

I’m not sure anyone can say Brockers was a great pick for us, actually the opposite may be more true. Mid 1st round DTs have to produce....he was chosen in the same range as Fletcher Cox for crying out loud. You don’t take DTs top 20 hoping for under 30 tackles and 3 sacks per yr which is what he’s given the Rams. The smart play was to cut him and keep Suh last yr.
Absolutely could not disagree more. Brockers, like others have stated, has had a vey good tenure with the Rams. The stupid play would have been to keep Suh over Brockers. Have we forgotten how bad Suh was during the regular season last year? Great playoff run yes but that was it. From what I have read he hasn’t done a whole hell of a lot in Tampa this year either other than his two fumble recoveries for TD’s. One sack in 12 games sorry not impressed.MothaFaulker wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2019 12:52 pmI’m not sure anyone can say Brockers was a great pick for us, actually the opposite may be more true. Well, considering Tampa has had the top rated run stuffing D for most of the season while also carrying a bottom 5 DB crew I’d say he’s made a great difference. The guy gives you double digit TFL and QB hits yearly. Even in his declining years he’s been better than Brockers.NorCal RF wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2019 12:58 pmAbsolutely could not disagree more. I understand that team cohesiveness and leadership, along with keeping Donald happy leads to keeping Brockers over Suh though.
I guess the free agent marketplace will tell us how he's valued.MothaFaulker wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2019 12:52 pmI’m not sure anyone can say Brockers was a great pick for us, actually the opposite may be more true. I think he's been a solid contributor. Not a 1st round steal, by any measure, but he's been anything but a bust on any level.

He has done alright this season. Off topic for next season. I do wish we could get a run stopping MLB. Someone named Jack Reynolds would be nice. Those were the days.

Yeah I do agree with that...I didn’t call him a bust as a player nor would I. He’s been a solid DT for 8 yrs now....just that in my opinion solid DTs shouldn’t go in the first round. 1st round DTs IMO need to be disruptive in terms of sacks/TFLs/QB pressures....or perhaps dominant run defenders. Again I like the player...just a bit of a reach mid 1st. rounder and I certainly disagree with the original post saying he was a great pick for the organization. Very good leader though.Dick84 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2019 1:13 pmI guess the free agent marketplace will tell us how he's valued.MothaFaulker wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2019 12:52 pmI’m not sure anyone can say Brockers was a great pick for us, actually the opposite may be more true.
