I was a young 20 year old Sergeant stationed at Ft. Bliss in El Paso Texas. Being from Georgia and a Rams fan since 1977, I didnt mind the drive from El Paso to Anaheim two times that year. I watched the first game of the season, my first ever NFL game against the Broncos (without Dickerson due to holdout) and again that same season against the Cardinals in that 46 - 14 blowout when they won the division. Fast forward some 35 years later, and looking back, what a ride it's been and such a treat for a young kid from Savannah Georgia to still be a fan of this team.

Go Rams!!

Enjoy this video from the 1985 season

Great team.

I went back and watched old games of Eric Dickerson recently. He was far more of a beast and game-dominator than I even remembered. I doubt there's ever another back who runs like that.

Had Dickerson played all 10 years of his career in a Rams uniform, Emmitt Smith would not be the all time rushing leader!!

That was the only year the stinkin 9ers didn't win the division that decade.
Those Rams as it were, put up the best fight vs DA BEARS that playoff year and still got shut out. 24-0
Dieter 'don't call me Ralph" Brock, the 18 year CFL veteran took down the 9ers dynasty his only NFL season.

LOVE that era. A few good seasons followed, until Frontiere took them into the toilet, followed by a few great seasons with Warner & Co., followed by a ton of looking like the worst franchise in all of professional sports for an extremely painful decade…which brings us to => sure is nice to be home again :D

That game was in Frisco, with the defending NFL champion 49ers streaking (8-5 after a 3-4 start) and the Rams staggering (9-4 after a 7-0 start), the 'experts' figured that our team stood no chance.

The Good Guys tied up the game at 20-20 in the fourth quarter when Henry Ellard scored on a long TD pass that was deflected by two 49ers DBs, then with time running out Gary Green returned an interception of Joe Montana for a 'pick six' and the 27-20 Rams' victory.

(I missed the first part of the contest because my girlfriend insisted that I accompany her to buy a Christmas tree that evening--that was clearly true love.)

It was an awesome win for the Rams, one of their top all-time regular-season triumphs... :) 8-)

LOL...that's a funny little side story

Here's mine, although not football related....My pride and joy, at that time, was my CJ7 and my then GF later wife and even later ex-wife did not like the ride...when she became pregnant with our daughter she said "now that we have a child on the way we...YOU....need to get a safer ride"...so I did. Flash forward 18 years and I told her "you know...I should have kept the Jeep and got rid of you"...we both laughed

Also...she was a diehard Rams fan but later somehow became a Cowboys fan because the Rams "always suck". now you know why she is an ex...lol

This is all a true tidbit...lol

Actually, the Falcons (12-4) won the NFC West in 1980, and the 49ers (3-6) had only the third-best record in the division for the strike-shortened '82 season, although there technically were no divisional titles that year.

So the 49ers won seven NFC West titles in the 80s decade... ;) :? :|

Now that you mention it, I do recall the strike year , but not the 9ers record. And you definitely you got me on the Falcons too, in 1980 for sure.
I stand corrected...
